Adult Basic Education (Literacy)
Helps adults improve basic reading, writing and math skills. Students are taught to become more aware of their own capabilities while developing communication, critical thinking and employability/ job-related skills.

GED Preparation and Testing (2007-2008 Class Schedule)
Offers day and night classes to help students prepare for the General Educational Development (GED) Test. ACE is the official Leon County testing center for the GED examination. GED candidates who pass the examination are awarded a State of Florida high school diploma.

Adult High School Credit (2007 Fall Schedule in MS Word) (Course Codes in MS Word)
Available to Leon County adults who withdrew from high school without a diploma or currently enrolled high school students with permission from their principal. Credits earned are applied toward graduation requirements for a high school diploma. Classes that help with FCAT review are available for reading and math.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (2007-2008 Brochure in PDF)
Teaches listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar skills to adults with limited English. Classes help students develop practical communication skills and a deeper understanding of the American culture.

Senior Adult Learner
Provides senior adults with valuable skills to enhance their daily lives. Classes meet at area retirement and community centers and encourage active learning in many academic areas, including exploration of issues that surround the aging process.

Adult Education for Adults with Disabilities
Assists adults with a wide variety of disabilities in developing the skills needed to become contributing members of society. Includes employability skills and job coaching which provide students with specific skills and daily on-the-job training needed for employment.

Family Literacy
The Family Literacy program reinforces the GED students’ academic skills while providing them with the opportunity to support their children’s social, emotional and academic growth and development.
