PANHANDLE ADULT LITERACY CENTER ADVISORY Council Glenda Norvell, Director Panhandle Adult Literacy Center The Panhandle Adult Literacy Center (PALC) has set up an advisory board to advise on the overall direction of the Center. The initial recruitment has resulted in fifteen representatives of the literacy and adult education communities from the Florida Department of Education's Region 1. That is an excellent response. So far the steering committee has met (at the Southeastern Literacy Conference) to discuss ideas for future board roles. One immediate role, taken on by the advisory board, has been as facilitators of newsletter and Website articles. We really appreciate the response we have had (Quite a few contributions have come from outside Leon County.). This has demonstrated the value of a representative advisory board. I am sure that the expertise and commitment of these literacy and adult education professionals will assure quality service from PALC. The current advisory board membership is as follows:
